Tournament Rules:
- 40 minute games
o Straight time
o No half time
o No added time, aka injury time
o Teams (and parents) will then have 20 minutes to move from one field to the other
- Referees will be there (cost will be divided amongst teams)
- Play the lines, not the wall
- No Heading
- All fouls are indirect free kicks except for penalties
- Goal sizes will be 6’ x 12’
- Build out rules apply
o No punting or drop kicking
o Offensive players must retreat behind buildout line before goalie must put the ball in play
o If goalie puts ball in play before offensive players are behind build out line then the offensive player does NOT have to go back and can attack the ball right away.
- All games will be played with a Futsal ball (low bounce)
- Younger team starts with the ball (they provide game ball)
o In the case of the Eagles / Vikings since they are the same age, ladies first. We are gentlemen after all and chivalry is not dead.
- Older team picks side
- Fair Play rules in effect
o We are one club having fun and getting ready for outdoor not playing to win a world cup
o Coaches and parents are expected to set a good example
o 6 goal max difference (Just like outdoor – there is more to soccer than goals, work on the “jogo bonito”)
o Shake hands at the end of the game
o Each team will give a medal to a player from the opposing team at the end of the game. The medal is NOT for the best soccer player, but rather for the kid who showed the best sportsmanship and heart on the field. That could be the kid who didn’t have a good game but never gave up, or it could be for the kid who helped up an opposing player or maybe it is a kid who kept on encouraging his teammates to not give up. But you get the point.
- Each team is responsible for picking up their own trash after every game. The gym is given to us in a clean state, we should return it in a clean state.
